I thought that I would share some photo's that I managed to get of my Molly. She doesn't like the camera and always runs from it ( not like Mia), so here she is...............
Mom..you know that I don't like my picture taken.
OK...Maybe just a little pic
What do you mean I have to do better?
I am not happy bout this......will this do?
WOW...that was exhausting!
Is that Mia ?? Wait till she finds out that I am on the blog !
AH! I guess blogging isn't that bad after all...

Thanks MOM!

Hope that you enjoyed this posting..and no I haven't lost my mind (Ha)!

Happy Sunday....Friends!

NYS Row by Row...FREE Quilt pattern

Hello Blogging Friends,

I know that it has been a while since my last post, but there just aren't enough hours in the day!
And to be honest........do that many people look at my postings?  I know that my facebook page gets a lot of interest and I wonder should I just concentrate on that? As a shop owner I am pulled in so many directions that my head spins and I am getting dizzy (Ha!).
But I wanted to show you all my Row by Row project for this year and hope that everyone likes it.
The theme for this year is Sew a Season and I choose fall because I love the beautiful colors of autumn.
Remember when you visit the shop anytime between July 1st and Sept 2nd you get the pattern for FREE!  If you like our colors, we will have fabric kits for you to purchase and make it so much easier for you because the choices have been made. We also have ordered the fabric plates that are being collected at many of the shops and our reads.." Spool-N-Around" after our row.
Hope to see you this summer

Tumbling Block Quilt

TUMBLING BLOCK QUILT

I love the tumbling block....
but
cant deal with the labor intense way of making this block.
So, I found an easy way of making the tumbling blocks in a lot less time....
using the strip piecing method.
This quilt that I am working on is small in size.
I have decided to make it little and sweet!
The blocks are made using lots of scraps and a neutral fabric
for the background.......not sure of the finished size yet
but
I will post a pic of the finished quilt soon!
I think this will be one of my favorites and a keeper!
What do you think?
Do you also love this old and traditional quilt block pattern?

HAPPY STITCHING,
Peg

A Little Sewing Time

Small Pincushions

I Love making pincushions, they make me happy!
I use hand dyed and textured wools, scraps of fabrics, selvages ,buttons and findings.
The strawberry is made from hand dyed wool, Valdani floss
and filled with crushed walnut shells ( one of my favorites)
The heart and 4 patch is made from scraps of leftovers
and
a selvage from a Marcus Brothers fabric..
Sweet little pincushions.....you can never have to many

HAPPY STITCHING,
Peg

Cinnamon Rolls

JANUARY 1st, 2014

"WELCOME"

Today I decided to do one of the things on my bucket list...
Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
Yep...that's right!
Years ago I used to make cinnamon rolls for the family
but, it has been a long time
and
I have been longing for the smell and taste of a homemade
cinnamon roll!
So, today is the day and I am hoping for the best.
They look good and smell good!
A little cream cheese frosting...yum...yum!
The hubby taste tested and approved..........

A great start to the New Year!

Holiday Pictures

Hope you all are having a Merry Christmas! We had a great day.....all of the family was together and everything came together even with the living room re-model. We are just about finished with the living room, it seems that all of the details are taking the longest.
I did take some time to bake cookies for the boys. Their favorites ....Peanut Butter Blossoms and Cranberry Nut swirls. Hubby didn't get his favorite sugar cookies, but he has a Birthday coming up soon and maybe then.
As I was baking the cookies , I looked at my counter and thought...what a mess. I have to admit that I am a very messy baker, but isn't the saying the messier the better ( or did I just make this up)!
Anyhow something that you may not know about me is that I love to bake, I am messy when I bake and when I am sewing ( but I do clean when done) and also that I love to do dishes ( am I crazy)? It is so therapeutic putting my hands in the warm water and smelling the great scents of dish liquids.
AND.......
I have never owned a dishwasher! Please don't judge me...for I am weird!
So here are some pics of the past week of the days of my life...........
Making a cookie MESS.......

Cookie baking.....messy counter
Cranberry Nut Swirls....getting ready
Peanut butter blossoms and PB temptations..
forget to take a pic of the Cranberry Swirls...
These bowls have been with me since my
bridal shower 43 years ago.....
Very little decorating
Our little tree before Santa arrived
A little holiday decorating in the unfinished
living room....forgot to take the sheet off the sofa .
but you get the idea...........................................
This was our tree this year...everyone liked it.
Maybe a new tradition with a smaller tree.......
A gift from my friend ...Jan. I just love it!
Molly and Mia playing with their gifts from Santa
Mia sleeping in one of my baskets with her
sister Molly's pony....Oh No!....................

HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL DAY!
