Row by Row Shop Hop

Kits for the Row by Row

 

We (the crow girls) have been busy preparing for the NYS Row by Row shop hop that is starting on July 1st.

 

The sample is made , the patterns has been printed, the kits are being assembled .......and more fabric has been ordered.

We are hoping that everyone will take time out of their busy

summer to visit many of the participating shops ( 75 in all).

This year PA is also having a Row by Row shop hop, so be sure

to visit some of their shops along the way.

Remember ...the pattern is FREE when you visit any participating shop and many of the shops including the Crow will be offering fabric kits for the their pattern.

Something new for this year is a collectible fabric license plate with the shops favorite saying.....can you guess what ours is?

Because these were special made for each shop there will be a small fee.

Our row has an optional red border and binding that will be include in the fabric kits..........Hope you like our Row!

Crow Banner

Crow Banner

Just made this new banner for the shop.

Its long...so I hung it on the wall upstairs.

I am hoping to find a long enough rod for it so I can decide

where I want it to be permamently.

I am happy with the way that it turned out...what do you think?

Stars Over Climbing Hills

I have had my eye on this pattern for awhile and decided that it was time to make it......... 

 Its made using all creams and blue from Primitive

Gatherings fabric collections. I just love all of her new fabric lines and

we have been ordering them for the shop.

I think this quilt is just stunning and who doesnt love stars!

It makes a nice patriotic quilt or just a summer quilt for the porch.

The binding calls for red fabric...but I might just stay with the blue.

In any case you cant go wrong.....kits will be available at the shop.

Wool Projects update



Wool Hearth Rug

Happy Memorial Day to All!
My last post I memtioned that I would show you some of the wool projects that I am working on.
This is the wool Hearth Rug that I just finished.
It is in the book Buttonwood Farm by Maggie Bonanomi. I love the primitive style of this rug.
It will probably hang on a wall or lay on a table.
The other project is the Prairie Rose table runner that is is the book Summer Gatherings by Lisa Bongean.

This is a very large table runner....you are seeing one side .
It is so much nicer in person. It is taking a long time to stitch everything down, so it will be a while for the finish.
This will be a good project for sitting on the porch with a cold drink and stitching away.
I will soon be showing you a large banner or valance that I am working on for the shop.
It has the shop name "Quilted Crow" with my Crow logo on it and I am happy with the way it is turning out.
Now I need to figure out where to put it in the shop.

Now for some KITTY talk...

This weekend I spent a little time sewing and my Molly decided to join me.

She was watching so INTENSE....so QUIET.....when suddenly see looked up at me as if to say...
MOM...you made a mistake....you must fix it....the ladies would be so disappointed in you!
and sure enough there it was ...a piece was reversed in the block.
Thank You... my precious Molly, I always knew that you were one smart cat!
And then there is Mia....

My SWEET LOVEABLE Mia...

She loves my sewing room and wants to be in the center of it all ( but to sleep) of course.

She thinks that Molly needs to take a chill pill. Who cares about any mistakes that Mom makes
as long as she keeps the treats coming and lets me nap on the sewing table.
So there is the latest on the furry M&M girls. I call Molly the plain and Mia the peanut. Get It?
OK...just humor me!

New Quilts for Shop



Country Rose

Just finished a couple of quilts for the shop. This is a super easy fat quarter friendly quilt with a country style.
I used fusible applique for the flowers and stems which made it go fast.
It was made using the " Garden Grove" fabric collection from Kim Diehl.
Of course the picture doesnt really capture the colors...it might help if I had a better camera.
and...
Because I had to drape it over the fence ...the quilt is hanging upside down so that I could get both of the borders in the pic. There are only 2 borders on the quilt.
I also have kits already to go for anyone interested.
The second quilt is made from charm squares and background fabric.

Snowball Charm
This quilt is made using one of Moda's Charm squares packs and background fabric from
" Kansas Troubles"
Although it is a snowball block...because of the same color in all the snowballs, your eye goes to the diamond and not the snowball. I love the simplicity of this little quilt.
I have this need to be working on several projects at a time when I am quilting, stitching, or punching.
Maybe its a multi tasking thing or just an attention problem, but I always love it when all of a sudden several projects are complete and I feel that I have gotten a lot done.
So, with that said let me tell you about some yummy WOOL projects that are in the works.
The first is a Maggie Bonanomi " Wool Hearth Rug" I will probably put it on a table or wall at home after it visits the shop for a while.
And
The other wool project is the " Prairie Rose " table runner from Primitive Gatherings.
Both projects require a lot of hand stitching and preparation but I am enjoying the process.
I am almost done with the wool hearth rug....but have a ways to go on Prairie Rose so it will be awhile.
Maybe I will tease you as I go along.....here are some pics.
